I can remember my first visit from my own pet sitter very well. I was to meet an absolute stranger who I would hand over my house keys to, to look after my lovely cats! I did not want to put a burden on my neighbours nor my family to drop in twice a day to let my cats in and out, feed them, and of course – clean the litter tray!

I have survived this very first holiday thinking will my home be safe, but I have built a strong relationship with a well-established pet sitting service in West Lothian for my own home.

I am absolutely mad about cats! I don’t mind dogs, but cats are just amazing! I have two (see above!) as well as an array of other little furries plus a snake in the house, oh, and fish too! So it’s a little zoo in my home and I know what it feels like asking around who can look after them when you are away.

I do believe that the catteries in the area are professionally run businesses, but I would never lock my cats in a “cell” for the duration of my holiday, let alone a day! I’d much rather they stayed at home and feel happy in their own surroundings.
